Apex Education is preparing to launch a new private school, Apex Pinelands, in Conradie Park, Pinelands, Western Cape. The school is being developed in partnership with Concor, the company responsible for transforming the precinct. Conradie Park has been rebuilt as a mixed-use community with housing, schools, healthcare facilities, shops, and green spaces, creating a neighbourhood where residents can live, work, learn, and relax in one connected environment.

Opening and Campus Details
Apex Pinelands will open in January 2026 with Grade 1 and Grade 8 learners. The high school will initially enrol 100 students who will attend classes in a heritage hall while the new campus is under construction. The campus is expected to be completed by December 2026 and will eventually offer education from Grade R to 12, accommodating up to 1,720 learners. The development is also set to create more than 70 jobs in the area, supporting community growth.

Support from Authorities
The Western Cape’s Provincial Minister of Education welcomed the project, noting it expands access to quality schools in the province. The minister highlighted that Apex Pinelands will provide better learning opportunities for thousands of children and demonstrates how government and private organisations can work together to meet the province’s growing education needs.
Apex Education Model
APEX Education is a non-profit organisation that builds affordable private schools using a blended learning model, combining online lessons with in-person support. The model allows for high-quality education at lower fees. Apex already operates schools in Eersterivier and Kayamandi in Stellenbosch, with Apex Pinelands being the latest addition. The CEO noted that the new school will allow children to access quality education close to home, reducing the need for long commutes.

Low-Cost Fees
The new school will maintain low fees, following the success of Apex Stellenbosch. In 2025, annual fees are R7,440 or R620 per month, rising to R7,800 or R650 per month in 2026. This is significantly cheaper than most private and many high-end public schools, aligning with Apex’s goal of making quality education more accessible.

Blended Learning Success
Apex’s blended learning model was developed after the organisation started in 2018 as a no-fee public school. During Covid-19, Apex shifted online and provided learners with data to continue their studies. The model combines online lessons, videos, quizzes, and in-person support, producing results similar to traditional schools and encouraging further expansion.
