Wellington College Education has announced plans to establish a new teaching facility in Tatu City, marking its second expansion in Africa following its presence in Lagos. The new institution is set to open in 2028 and will further strengthen the region’s access to high-quality international education.
The school will be a co-educational day and boarding institution catering to 1,500 students aged between 3 and 18, targeting both local and international learners.
A Modern Campus in a Growing Urban Hub
The campus will feature a wide range of amenities designed to support both academic and extracurricular development. These include over 100 kilometres of exercise trails, parks, open spaces, and access to Tatu City’s urban wildlife sanctuary, alongside diverse housing options.
Positioned within a rapidly developing urban environment, the school aims to offer students a balanced and enriching educational experience.
“Receiving a top British education no longer requires sending children to the United Kingdom. Wellington College International Kenya offers a blend of academic rigour and extra-curricular activities and amenities found only at Tatu City.”
Stephen Jennings, Founder and CEO of Rendeavour
Strategic Location and Investment Growth
Tatu City, designated as a Special Economic Zone, has attracted over Sh450 billion in investments and is home to more than 75 companies including Naivas, Heineken, NCBA Group, CCI Global, Emirates Logistics, and Dormans.
The SEZ provides a range of incentives aimed at driving economic growth, including a 10 percent corporate tax rate for the first 10 years, 15 percent for the following decade, as well as exemptions on VAT, import duty, and stamp duty.
