Singapore based education rankings platform Schoolbell.net has released its annual list of the top private schools in Ghana for 2025, placing Ghana International School at number one with a contextual reputation score of 100.0. The rankings, published on 21 December 2025, assess schools based on online credibility, visibility and trustworthiness to support parents making informed enrolment decisions.

Ghana International School Leads the Rankings

Ghana International School, located in Cantonments, Accra, has retained its position as the country’s leading private school since its establishment in 1955. It is the only international school in Ghana accredited by both the Council of International Schools and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. The school serves a diverse student population across infant, junior, lower and upper secondary levels.

Top 10 Private Schools in Ghana for 2025

DPS International Ghana secured second place with a contextual reputation score of 99.7, followed by American International School, Ghana, which ranked third with 98.9. The American International School operates as an International Baccalaureate institution offering programmes from Pre K3 to Grade 12, with a strong focus on 21st century skills and global citizenship.

Brian Hill International School ranked fourth with a score of 97.5, while Galaxy International School placed fifth with 95.7. Founded in 2001, Galaxy International School operates two campuses in Accra and serves students from more than 37 countries. The school also recorded strong results in the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination released in early December.

The Roman Ridge School ranked sixth with a score of 93.3, followed by British International School Ghana at 90.4. The Barstow School Ghana placed eighth with a score of 87.0. International Community School and Lincoln Community School completed the top ten with scores of 83.0 and 75.0 respectively.
